Tasting Notes:	98% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Sauvignon Red berry and sweet cherry aromas are complemented by frest mint and dark, bitter-sweet chocolate. Perfectly balanced with cherry-spice notes and hints of fresh herbs echoing throughout. The wine is rich and ripe, with bright fruit flavors and tantalizing texture. In a word: yummy!
Vineyard Notes:	About a quarter of this Merlot came from Bedrock Vineyard, another quarter from Pickberry and the rest from Barricia, Rancho Salina and our own Gehricke Road Vineyard. That vineyard make-up means most of it came from Sonoma Valley (65%) with a hefty additional portion from Sonoma Mountain and a smattering from Dry Creek. Of course, Joel and the winemaking team gave it the traditional treatment in the winery and aged it in French barrels, 30% new oak.
Food Pairing:	This merlot will be a perfect companion to roasted chicken or grilled red meat.
