Wine Profile
Vintage: 2007
Wine Type: Rosé Wine
Appellation: Sonoma County
Alcohol %: 13.5
Tasting Notes: Freshly aromatic, it’s a lighter version of a robust red, and a tasty outcome of our efforts to make big, bold, full-blooded Zins. The ’07 is a blend of 60% Zin, 36% Syrah and 4% Grenache. It’s delicate and incredibly refreshing, with whispers of wild strawberry, raspberry and citrus. With its zingy acids, the Rosato is the perfect wine to serve well chilled on a hot summer day or for an evening barbecue on the patio. A wine club/tasting room exclusive; just 341 cases made.
Production Notes: After crush and before fermentation, Joel and the Ravenswood winemaking team often drain off the liquid from the must to create deeper, darker wines. This technique is called saignée French for “bleeding.” Instead of selling the runoff to other wineries, a few years back Joel decided to use it to make a dry rosé.
